This digital image contains verified metadata that describes your qualifications and the process required to earn them.

Further details are provided in the following Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an open badge?
Badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online.

How does my certification get displayed as a badge?
Avid has partnered to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated into a badge, issued and managed through the Credly digital badging platform. This enables you to accept, manage, share and verify your competencies digitally. The Credly technology is based on the Open Badge Standards maintained by IMS Global.

What are the benefits of a badge?
Representing your skills as a badge gives you a way to share your abilities online in a way that is simple and trusted. Your unique digital badge can be easily sharde on social media, your resume, your email signature, and elsewhere. Your digital badge proves that you have met the requirements to be Avid Certified. The badge includes information about your certification and can be easily verified in real time. Badges provide employers and peers concrete evidence of what you had to do to earn your credential and what you’re now capable of. Digital credentials also include labor market insights, based on your skills, so you can search and apply for job opportunities right through Credly.

How will I know if I’ve earned a digital badge and how do I claim it?
If you have successfully passed an Avid certification exam, you will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for setting up your account and claiming your badge. Make sure to check your email inbox and junk or spam folder for your notification. If you can’t locate the email, go directly to Credly. Upon accessing your account, you should see an accept badge message.

We love to recognize your accomplishments. Get noticed and share your achievements. Click here to learn ways to share your badge across multiple platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

What if I don’t want my badge to be public?
You can easily configure your privacy settings in the Credly platform. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.

Is there a fee to be part of the Avid Badging and Digital Credentials program and to use the Credly platform?
No. This is a service we provide to you, at no cost.

What’s to keep someone else from copying my badge and using it?
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.

Where and how can I share my badge through Credly?
You can share your badge directly from Credly to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook; over email, embedded in a website or in your email signature.

How do I print my certification?
As of the introduction of our Badging & Digital Credentials program, Avid will provide access to your certificate through the Credly platform. Once you claim your badge, you can download a print-quality PDF of your certificate for your records or print and display. Click here for a step-by-step guide:

What are labor market insights and how can I access them through Credly?
Labor market insights are pulled from live job requisitions. Based on your skills you can learn which employers are hiring, what job titles you might be qualified for, salary ranges and more. Search active job listings and even apply for them with just a few clicks through Credly. Access the labor market insights from your badge details page by clicking on Related Jobs, or by clicking on the skill tags assigned to your badge.

I was Avid certified years ago, do I retroactively get a badge?
Badges and digital credentials were made available for the following certification types earned since January 1, 2021:

  • User Certifications
  • Technical Certifications (System Administrators only)
  • Developer Certifications
For Avid Certified | Support Representatives (ACSRs) and Avid Certified | Instructors, badges and digital credentials were made available to all active certifications as of March, 2023.
